They rode through the desert on camels
(Those supercilious mammals)
They had sand in their eyebrows
sand in their hair
That intrepid Kiwi pair.

Refrain:
The motion was making them sick
Cried Sandy ‘I’ve got to stop quick.’

Said Edward ‘I’ve got to stop too!’
Dressed like a Berber in indigo blue
Veiled from the sand and the heat—
Blue on their faces, hands, knees and feet
Blue everywhere
That intrepid pair.

Refrain.

The camp was spectacular, beds comfy too,
But all night camel stomachs rumbled,
Camel boys snored and grumbled
And the ambience was camel
Through and through.

Refrain.
