Sleepy little girl of ours
Wee sleepy one
New to the world of flowers
Rainbows and sun.
Fresh as dawn’s early light,
Soft as the velvet night,
Bright as the stars above
Wee girl we love.
Oh, may we see this world
Through your bright eyes
And feel a child’s delight
At each surprise.
Butterfly, moth or bee—
Nest in an apple tree—
Sleep little girl so new
Wee sleepy one,
Our journey through life with you
Has just begun.
