Across the wide Sahara beneath a blazing sky
Toiled the lost tourist thinking he would die
A man on a camel passed him by
‘Drink,’ croaked the tourist through lips cracked and dry,
‘Sorry,’ said the man, ‘but I can sell you a tie.’

Three times men on camels passed him by.
Each one could only offer him a tie.
‘You can keep your flaming tie—
I need a drink!’ the morantal reply.

At last beneath a darkening sky
A line of palm trees standing high!
He made a last determined try
On a lonely building there met his eye
The words:

‘All patrons of this Bar
must wear a TIE.’
